Introduction

Remember Everyday is a personal web application for preserving and cherishing memories of loved ones. We respect your privacy and protect your personal data. This policy describes what data we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have.

What data we collect

We only collect data necessary to provide the service:

  • Account: email address, display name, and securely stored password
  • Content: memories, letters, songs, photos, and other content you create
  • Preferences: language setting, theme, AI preference, and other settings
  • Security: session data, login attempts, and two-factor authentication

Where your data is stored

Your data is stored on servers in the European Union (AWS eu-central-1, Frankfurt). The database is managed by Neon (serverless Postgres). Photos are stored in Cloudflare R2 with signed access URLs.

Third parties

We share your data with the following services, solely for the functioning of the application:

  • Cloudflare — security (Turnstile CAPTCHA) and image storage (R2)
  • Resend — sending emails (password reset, invitations, reminders)
  • xAI — optional AI features (title suggestions, type classification). Only active if you give consent. Your content is not stored by xAI.

AI features

If you enable AI features during registration, the text of your memories is sent to xAI (Grok) for title suggestions and classification. This is entirely optional and can be disabled at any time in your settings. xAI does not store your data or use it for training.

Cookies

We only use strictly necessary cookies: a session cookie for authentication, a language preference, and temporary cookies for email verification. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

Your rights (GDPR)

Under the General Data Protection Regulation, you have the following rights:

  • Access — you can view all your stored data in the app
  • Export — you can export all your memories via Settings
  • Deletion — you can permanently delete your account and all data
  • Correction — you can modify all your data at any time

Retention periods

Your data is kept as long as your account is active. Deleted memories are permanently removed after 30 days. When you delete your account, all data is permanently erased.
